Life-changing performance

Who has impacted your life the most? What did they say or do? I've had this asked in group settings a couple of times lately and I try to take my time to give a thoughtful answer. ---I don't want to give a quick answer or the "sunday school" answer. Yet, the greatest impact on my life truly is when I met my Savior in the 3rd grade. The life-changing event that has directed my path, is something I haven't gotten over. Miss Hutchinson simply shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with me forty years ago, and I haven't gotten over it. God has walked with me hand in hand even through hazardous areas. God pursued a relationship with me when I wasn't looking for Him. This was the original blind-side! He guided me when it seemed like no one else was around to do so. Whose life have you impacted? Who have you simply shared Jesus with? Life-changing performances usually take place in the seconds or minutes of life. What will you do with the few that you have?

The Way it Works

Small Group Dynamics or small group dynamite...either way it works. I just got back from a funeral. I was able to view things from the back of the room and from the front of the room and even mingling among people. What I saw was people loving on people. No one had to ask them to do this. In fact, other people noticed how the love overflowed and were amazed. None of us should have been amazed as the Jesus-followers did what they do...shared the love. While many people from the church showed up, after a while I realized that it was a small group of people that were at the core of the care-taking. These people that meet with each other on a weekly basis: caring, praying and relating for and with one another were there in time of crisis. That's the way it works. So, you go LTC! Care for one another.

Serve

This about the invisible people in our lives that perhaps are not noticed because things are getting done. You only know they exist when things break down. Obviously I'm not making some exhaustive list (so don't go omg he didn't say anything about me!). So with no further ado I give interweb props to Crystal Schnoor, Matt Schnoor, Jen Whitfield, Sarah Whitfield for the pleasant look they give to the hallway and cafeteria respectively on Sunday. I hardly realize I am at a school. And these four do a lot more than that...but props to you! Carrie Hollon, Kim Thomas and Co. have been setting the atmosphere tone with the special aroma of the coffee brewing. Also, it is great to see our folks serving in Jesus' name out in the community. Just this past month I counted up at least 44 community service hours by LTC members, and at least one person came to know Christ as a result of this. Do not grow weary in well-doing! ---If I missed you on this one, maybe I will catch you next time. Thanks to all. Stay faithful.
